A world of flags.
How many do you know?
Look beyond the colours. Test your knowledge of national flags, then build the connections that make each one stick.
How the flag quiz works
Identify the country represented by each flag. Start with four choices, or choose Recall first to type the country name without seeing possible answers. After answering, you get immediate feedback. Small spelling differences and supported country-name aliases are accepted in recall practice.
Each round starts with ten questions. To change the length or focus on one continent, open Practice settings. You can play as many rounds as you like; practice scores stay separate from the daily comparison.
Notice one detail at a time
Start with the layout: horizontal bands, vertical bands, a cross or a central symbol. Then notice the colour order and the position of the emblem. Two flags can share a palette while arranging it very differently.
Compare a pair rather than memorising both in isolation. Ireland and Côte d’Ivoire use the same three colours in opposite orders; Australia and New Zealand both include the Union Jack but have different stars. Our similar-flags guide puts the differences side by side.
Turn mistakes into the next round
Missed countries appear in Review mistakes. Your learning path records flags, capitals and maps separately: two correct answers light up a skill. Progress is stored in this browser, so you can return to the countries that still need practice.
The atlas covers 195 countries. Cases where an unqualified flag question could be ambiguous are excluded from flag practice. See the field guide for coverage and sources.
