How to play

Name all 50 US states in 8 minutes and fill the map from memory. Alaska and Hawaii are included. Enter one answer at a time. Correct answers are accepted automatically; duplicates do not add points. If a name also begins another answer, press Enter for the shorter name. Accents, capitalisation and punctuation do not need to match.

Travel around the map by region: the Pacific coast, Mountain West, Midwest, South and Northeast. Remember the two states outside the contiguous mainland.

What’s included?

All 50 states. Washington, DC and US territories are not states and do not count. Type full state names, not postal abbreviations. Alaska and Hawaii are shown as insets; positions and scale are adjusted.
